Starstruck

THE Stephenie Meyer

Kim up on the stage
 I'm keeping my ticket forever
Let's just keep taking pictures while we wait for hours.
The beginning of the line at Thanksgiving Point
We were lucky to have some shade in line.

I can't believe that I was able to go see Stephenie Meyer. Of course, she is the talented author of the Twilight series as well as her new book, The Host.  She was very delightful. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and friendly she is. Very humble as well for someone with so much success. There were a couple hundred people in line before us, but when we got in, my friend who hooked us up so well with tickets also had great seats for us. (Six rows back right in the center.) Not too bad considering there were 1,000 people there.

Stephenie spoke for 20 minutes and then did book signings. It took us an hour and a half being in just the sixth row to get ours signed. Stephenie was there until 12:30am signing. Glad we had good seats. I went with my sister-in-law, Kim, who I have to thank for taking these great pictures and for going with me. It was a blast! I would not be in awe meeting a famous celebrity as I am when I meet great authors.

I totally agree with everything you said about Stephenie. She seems so humble for someone so successful. I'm so happy for her. And I'm so happy for us that we actually got to meet her! Thanks so much for getting everything arranged. How awesome that you had such a great connection. ;) She seriously hooked us up! I had such a great time and half the fun was just being there with you. I can't believe we got out of there so early and that Stephenie was signing until 12:30 am. I had no idea.

Thank Sierra again for me for tending Kaylee. She's still talking about her. She really loves you guys. Oh, so today she wanted a banana, so she pointed and said, "Nana". Then she starts laughing and saying, "Nana, Stee, Seera, Joe, Jayja". She thought that was so funny, that you have the same name as a banana. (At least in her two-year-old vocabulary.)

So back to Stephenie. I hate the picture of us when you talk about waiting for hours and hours. (It seriously didn't feel like it at all! And only three bathroom visits total.) The flash on that picture is so harsh and I look like a freak! Thanks a lot. :)

I'm off the climb into bed and get further along in The Host. I need to find out what all the fuss about Ian is about.

Fun stuff. Thanks again.
