Where does the time go?

It seems like only yesterday that I was holding my baby in my arms. Yet it was only just yesterday that she started kindergarten. With her Hannah Montana backpack she was so excited to go to school at her dad's school. When we met her at the door at the end of class and asked her how it was, her face lit up as she said, "It was the best day of my life!" I'm so happy for her and proud of her but at the same time I'm so sad for myself. This really starts it all off. This is like the start of the end. She's leaving. It's only for a couple hours now, but it will seem like only tomorrow that she'll leave for good to start her own family and I will miss her.

How I want to really treasure every minute I have with my kids, but sometimes it's not so easy to do. I want to value the time and not rush it. I need to enjoy today without thinking about tomorrow, for it will come no matter what I do, so I only have today.

To My Daughter: I can't believe your youngest child (and my youngest grandchild) is entering school. You're right, where does the time go? A word of advice . . . by the time she is graduating from high school, you'll be glad to have some free time to yourself. And, you have to go through these times in order to have the best time of your life - WHEN YOU BECOME A GRANDMA. I still have the photo of your first day of kindergarten - can even remember the dress you wore. We did dresses in those days! I know it's hard, but it was also hard of me when we took you up to Rick's for college. I cried all the way home and again sitting on your bed back home. But, the best cry is when you see your first grandchild (and last) for the first time. I hope I'm around when that happens to you. Love, Your Mom
