I like this article about how to keep your New Year's resolutions. It starts off:
"It's a stark irony of the Western calendar that the odometer turns over smack dab in the middle of winter-the one time of the year when most people can't rouse themselves to clean their bathrooms, much less make an ambitious, life-changing, behavioral U-turn. If you're the type who likes to ring in the New Year with an engraved list of resolutions, read on for hints about how best to keep them." Read on...

I used to make them and it was all about losing weight. Of course, it didn't work and I felt so bad about myself. Now that I'm 'older,' I don't make any New Year's resolutions because I think I'd fail before I start. Therein lies the mistake --FAIL. Who wants that? Not me, so I'm in bed before midnight and wake up bright eyed and fix a wonderful breakfast to start off the month of January and a new year. At this time in my life, the important thing is remembering to write the correct year on my checks! I honestly don't know anybody who had made a resolution and kept it. SIMPLIFY your life and give up the resolutions - you'll feel a lot better about yourself come February 1st. Mom
I only make fun ones I know I can keep. Last year it was to eat more dark chocolate since it's good for your heart. I totally succeeded. Still trying to decide on one for this year.
Seriously, this probably sounds lame...but my resolution is to eat less chocolate.
At first, I said I wouldn't eat chocolate in 2009. That lasted, quite literally 7 hours since I ate the left over Christmas chocolate for breakfast. Then I decided I'm going to try to eat chocolate once a week.
Wanna join me for my chocolate day sometime?
I love these! I like how Kim wants to eat more chocolate and Trishelle wants to eat less. Mom, Steve said he actually wrote 2008 on four checks so far.
Steve and I tried to go "off" soda and we lasted a whole day. A cranky, headache withdrawal day. Then the next day we said, "If you get one I'll get one." And that was that!
I REALLY NEED TO WRITE MINE DOWN!!! I have some swirling around my head but I haven't put them to paper yet. Maybe I should make a resolution to make resolutions...
