One Last Gift

Our chickens left us last week to go live on a farm. We raised them since they were three weeks old. They were our live food storage as well as great pets. They really haven't laid eggs since November because they don't like to lay in the cold weather. But last week it was warm and sunny on the day their new owners came to get them.  About an hour before they left, Red, who was Jordan's chicken, laid her final egg for us. I knew it was just a special little gift for me. We have enjoyed many of their beautiful brown eggs with creamy, bright yellow yolks. Farewell chicks!

That's really sad... but you do have a nice header on your bog.

Well, make your Mom cry, O.K.? Brings back memories of all those chickens we had when you and your sister were growing up on our little "farm" near the beach in northern San Diego County. I still miss those wonderful eggs - there's nothing like a fresh laid egg for breakfast! Memories . . . Love your new look on the blog; keep up the good work. Love, Mom
