We really hardly ever go to KFC. I don't even know if we go once a year. The other night Steve went to the Real Salt Lake soccer game and his row actually got picked for some half time thing so he ended up getting a coupon for a free 8 piece bucket of chicken, mashed potatoes, etc. worth over $19.00. Free is good enough to get me to go there. Especially since they have their new grilled chicken.
We sit down, I put really cold butter on the dry biscuits and then grab us some honey packets. We like honey. As I was eating, I was reading the honey packet. The front actually says:
Colonel's HONEY SAUCE.
Hmmm....What the heck is honey SAUCE? Then I notice the small print on the front that says
11% Real Honey
Okay, this is weird. I turn it over and read the back. (Not a good idea.) It says:
Ingredients:
HIGHT FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP,
SUGAR,
HONEY,
CORN SYRUP,
NATURAL FLAVOR,
CARAMEL COLOR
Hmmm...Steve said it's basically a sugar packet with 11% real honey. Does ingredients mean list as many synonyms for sugar? I want to know what natural flavor is in it. Actually, I probably don't want to know.
So if you go to KFC, bring your own honey.

Looks like SUGAR would be the natural flavor!! Yuk. They used to serve 100% honey. Where is this world headed now that the Colonel is serving fake honey?
Good to know! What did you think of the new grilled creation?
KFC was my very first job after high school. It lasted 2 weeks. Somewhere between the frozen 'fresh' biscuits that could double as high velocity weapons and what drips off some of the meats in the rotisserie, I figured it wasn't quite the right fit.
I actually liked the grilled chicken. It reminded me of rotisserie chicken. The outside is light, crisp and tasted good. I did have to wait 12 minutes for it though.
My first job was Taco Bell. I think that might be why I don't eat there now.
