It's a Girl!

I can't believe we did it. Steve and I both said, "We will never get another dog again," after our last dog died. Plus, you get the dog for the kids, but you (mostly Steve) ends up taking care of it. Food, water, walks, poop, etc. Then it dies and rips your heart apart. Steve recently came up with this idea of getting a puppy. He said that he would go into it knowing that he would be taking care of it. (Good job, Steve!)

She is a Miniature long-haired Dachshund. That's what our last dog, Rosie, was. I grew up with Dachshunds, and so did my parents when since they were married. We love these dogs. Small dog--small poop!

We surprised the kids and they were very surprised. It was a sweet moment. We are all having so much fun playing with her and loving her. She doesn't have a name yet. We are thinking about Ginger, but it hasn't stuck yet. Any suggestions?

Oh, how we love "the girls." She's so adorable, can hardly wait to see my newest grandpuppy! The pics bring back so many memories. I think we've had 6-7 of those little cuties. Good luck to all of you. Woof woof. Mom

Congratulations!! She is so cute!! Yahooo! How fun for you guys! I love the name Ginger but if you are looking for more names to consider, how about Maggie? Then you could call her Mag-Pie...hehehe. She is very sweet. I can't wait to meet her.

Cuter than cute. I love the floppy furry ears. :) John and I always wanted to name a dog "Girlfriend." I was raised in Vegas where girls called eachother that, and it would sound so funny in a lot of different contexts: "Girlfriend! Get down!" It has to be said with rising intonation like a question, and with a bit of a inner-city accent to get the feel right. :) We're no good at naming anyone though - it was so hard deciding on names for our boys, so good luck!!

She is so cute! My sister has 2 dachshunds! They are her babies! We love them! I have always wanted to name an animal Molly...Chris doesn't approve for some reason so it will never happen, but I love it!

I am SO surprised you got another dog! You swore up and down you'd never get another one! Oh, my gosh! I liked Trishelle's suggestion--Maggie. That's way cute! Or how about Bella?
