I Must be Losing It!

Don't you hate it when you do things that just make you feel so sick?

I remember being up at Rick's College with a really beautiful wool ski sweater from my mom. Being away at school for the first time and being new to laundry too, how was I supposed to know you don't stick something that's 100% wool in the dryer? When I pulled it out it looked like it could fit my Cabbage Patch doll. It made me feel sick, but it made my mom feel even worse when I told her about it.

The other day I went to Costco for a bag of chicken tenders. Instead of getting just one bag I thought I'd splurge and get two bags. ($28.00) Then we stopped by another store for a few other items. The next day I went to Target and when I opened the back of the van to load my stuff...
there were the two bags of spoiled chicken tenders. Oh man, I felt sick! I actually cried all the way home (we live really close so it wasn't a total meltdown) and then told my family about it. What a waste of time and money. It's just one of those things that make you feel so sick.

If something makes me mad or makes me feel a certain negative way, like when a lady flipped me off the other day for no reason, I usually give myself a time period when I can pout, complain, be upset, etc. Then it's time to move on. When the lady in the car did that to me I gave myself until a State Street to be done feeling upset. With the chicken I gave myself the rest of the day and then after that I was done. This blog entry doesn't count because I'm not mad or sick about it anymore. Life does go on and my time period to let it effect me is over.

It doesn't sound to me like you're losing it; sounds like you've finally found it! Love the simplicity of this - let it go and go on with life. I know exactly what you're talking about. I like to think the thing (or person) who is getting me down in actually winning if I let it continue to haunt me. Happy week-end.

How smart to let yourself accept your feelings for a while. I think that makes it all easier to let go and be done with it afterward. But no, you're not losing it. Sounds like something I would do (or maybe have done.) Like the time I went to Japan for study abroad with a brand new fancy camera and lost it the second day, and had to do the rest of the trip on crummy disposable cameras. ...Come to think of it, I'm not sure I'm over that one yet... Maybe I should give myself till next month and then I could be done. :)

BTW, if it makes you feel better about your chicken, Macey's is doing a bulk sale this week (frozen individually in a big box) - 10 lbs for $10. :)

UG! I had a heartsick moment for you too! I can relate to the feeling and the situation. It's frustrating because in those situations there's nothing you can do to work with it. Spoiled chicken, rotten yogurt (that's my experience) and other perishables can't be recycled or reused.

Okay, not to bring it up again, but I feel your pain! Chicken of all things! I'm glad you're over it though.
